23 Sep 2021 Malaysian Government lifted the entry restriction for foreign nationals from certain countries including Pakistan, India, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka with immediate effect but the entry approval will be considered on a case-to-case basis it's not guaranteed that you will get your MyTravelPass approved if you came from the countries above, they also approved the home quarantine for the fully vaccinated traveller to Malaysia.
The ban lifted for Permanent Resident (PR), Long Terms Visit Pass Holders (Temporary Employment)/Spouse of Malaysian Citizens & they must get entry approval by submitting the application at MyTravelPass web Portal.
Employment Pass holders (Category I, II, III), Professional Pass, Business Travellers & invest have to submit the application of approval through MyEntry Web Portal.
Existing Student Pass Holder will get Travel Authorization from EMGS portal, provided that the following conditions must be fulfilled:
- In possession of valid Malaysian Visa (if not refer to Malaysian embassy or consulate nearby);
- fully vaccinated with WHO-approved vaccines. valid vaccination certificate to be produced upon request;
- a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result; and
- agree to undergo mandatory quarantine in accordance with the latest ruling issued by the ministry of health, Malaysia https://www.covid-19.moh.gov.my/. fully vaccinated travellers may submit the application to undergo home quarantine at https://hso.moh.gov.my/outbreak-portal-hqa/traveller/hqareg
Be reminded that the above measures will be reviewed on regular basis by the Government of Malaysia, visit the Malaysian Embassy website periodically or visit the nearest Embassy in your country of origin.
If you go through all the above requirements and everything is fine then go ahead travel to Malaysia & follow the steps below to get your Overseas Vaccination Certificate added to MySejahtera App and travel without restriction while staying in Malaysia.
How to Obtain MySejahtera Digital Vaccination Certificate if Vaccinated Overseas
There are 2 ways to get your Digital Vaccination Certificate in MySejahtera App, the 1st by going to District Health Office (DHO), 2nd through the MySejahtera App Helpdesk filling up your personal detail & attached the Vaccination Certificate issued by the foreign authority recognized by the Malaysian Government.
Method 1:
- Goto DHO (Local DHO based on your location, List of DHO's by Ministry of Health)
- Submit the evidence that you have been fully Vaccinated (i.e COVID-19 Digital Vaccination Certificate Issue Overseas) to DHO officials
- DHO will verify & send that information to MySejahtera through the State Health Department & you will be given your Digital Certificate through the App.

Method 2:
- Goto Playstore & Download MySejahtera App (if you haven't installed) otherwise;
- Open the app & grant permission to access your location & other necessary permissions to run the app;
- Click HelpDesk >choose your prefered language & press the Start button;

- Select dose you would like to get a certificate for (if you are Fully Vaccinated click C. both doses) & click next;
- Now we have to fill up the Vaccination Detail;
Click image to enlarge - Input your Passport number, Phone Number, Select Vaccinee (self or dependant), Vaccine Type (find the recognized vaccine above),
- Vaccine Type, Country (Where you get your 1s dose), Vaccination Date, Batch/Serial Number entry the detail for dose 2 (make sure input the correct batch/serial number if they were different).
That's it...!! You will receive the acknowledgement with the information & attachment you have submitted along with your application. :)
Where I can find the batch/Serial Number?
I have been vaccinated from Pakistan, I will show the Batch number shown on Certificate Issued by National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
They will investigate your request, due to the higher volume of requests you get the reply within 5 working days. I will share the update once get the COVID-19 Digital Certificate in MySejahtera App, Stay tuned.
